"Claim free SOL" sounds like something a scam would say, so it's fair to check before you connect a wallet.
Is Sol Incinerator safe?
Yes. Sol Incinerator is non-custodial: it never asks for your seed phrase or private key, its wallet scan is read-only, and cleanups only happen through transactions you approve in your own wallet. It has run since December 2021, and its fees go to a public address you can check on-chain.
Your keys stay in your wallet
You connect Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, Trust Wallet, OKX, Exodus or any WalletConnect wallet. Sol Incinerator reads which accounts you have, builds the transactions for what you select, and your wallet asks you to approve them. If something looks wrong in the preview, reject it and nothing happens.
Fun Mode doesn't burn anything
The default Fun Mode closes empty token accounts, withdraws surplus deposits from supported accounts you keep, and claims supported rewards. It never burns tokens or NFTs. Pro Mode adds burning for people who want to permanently destroy spam or dead assets; assets above a value threshold are hidden by default, and large burns ask for an extra confirmation.
It has a long, public record
Sol Incinerator has been live since December 2021, built by the Sol Slugs team. Since August 2022, when our transaction index starts, it has closed 196 million empty token accounts. Solflare's own FAQ, asked how to delete scam NFTs, says: "You can safely burn scam NFTs using sol-incinerator.com, or hide them from view in the Solflare app." Phantom's app directory also lists Sol Incinerator under Tools.
Its fees are public and checkable
Our base recovery fee is 2% of the SOL recovered, with a per-account minimum, and it comes out of the SOL you get back, so there's no service charge to pay first. Solana's network fee is separate; when your transaction qualifies, Gasless Pay covers it upfront and takes a sponsorship charge from the recovered SOL. Our fees go to burn68h9dS2tvZwtCFMt79SyaEgvqtcZZWJphizQxgt, so you can open your cleanup on Solscan and check what reached your wallet and what went to our fee address.
Is "claim free SOL" legit?
When it means closing empty token accounts, yes. Every token account on Solana holds a refundable rent deposit. When you sell or send a token, its account can stay open and empty, with the deposit still inside. Closing it sends that deposit to the account's owner.
Nobody is handing out SOL. Whoever created the account funded the deposit (you when you bought, the sender for an airdrop), but it belongs to the owner, and closing returns it. Our sol claim guide shows how much each account holds after Solana's 2026 rent cuts.
Compressed NFTs don't use token accounts and hold no deposit, so burning one returns no SOL. A tool that promises SOL for burning them is overpromising.
How do you stay safe with any SOL claim tool?
- Check the address. Lookalike sites copy the names and pages of popular tools. Sol Incinerator lives at
sol-incinerator.com; bookmark it rather than clicking links in DMs, replies or ads. - Never type your seed phrase. No cleanup tool needs it. A site that asks for it is trying to take your wallet.
- Read the wallet preview. A cleanup should show empty accounts closing and SOL coming back to you. If tokens or NFTs are leaving your wallet when you didn't choose to burn them, reject it. A clean preview isn't proof on its own; our wallet drainer guide covers what else to watch for.
- Start small if you're unsure. Select a few accounts first, check the SOL arrived, then do the rest.
